Custom Woodworker
Status: Full Time Employment
Relevant Work Experience or Education: 2 years
Select Door, a manufacturer of fine hardwood products, is looking for a skilled woodworker to become part of their Custom Production Department.
Over the past few years, Select’s reputation for addressing any request, that the customer can generate, has led to a large increase in the volume of custom ‘one-of-a-kind’ production.
The ideal candidate to assist in the processing of these requests shall have experience in several of the following production activities:
- Cutting Glass (with and without templates)
- Cutting and Affixing Edge Banding to Cores (Shaped MDF Panels)
- Veneer Application and Stitching
- Creating and Affixing Curved Molding
- Fabricating Custom Grill Work
- Stopping In Panels and Glass
- Shaping Components with Jigs (as for serpentine and radius products)
- Dovetail Joinery Techniques
- Mortise and Tenon, Cope and various Joinery Techniques
- French Style Door Construction including Detailed Muntin Work
- Use of Biscuit Joints and Splines
- CNC Training (MasterCAM)
- Able to work to Premium Grade standards per Architectural Woodwork Institute
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be:

- Attentive to detail
- Able to follow direction
- Versed in the general concepts of Lean Manufacturing
- Able to look ahead and identify opportunities for streamlining and avoiding problems
