Millworkers in the 18th and 19th centuries had a popular method of adding a decorative touch to framed openings and wooden door ways. Using a special molding plane they added a simple bead profile to decorate the edge of the framing boards. Add another board to overlap and you have a rabbeted jambset.

Select Door provides this historic touch to you in a true rabbeted jambset. Using 1 ¾" stock will give you the historically correct two side bead appearance. Use 1 ¼" stock and you will have one side with bead profile and a square edge on the opposite.
